Innovative therapies are being developed by precisely manipulating stem cells, biomaterials, oxygen tension and hydrodynamic culture conditions to create complex 3D tissue constructs with the structural similarity, necessary mechanical characteristics and sufficient immuno-compatibility to facilitate functional in vivo integration.
