The major goals of my research program are to decipher molecular pathways that confer selective growth and survival advantages to malignant B cells. We are also interested in understanding how stem-like cells contribute to drug resistance in these malignancies. Therefore, I began new lines of studies involving the identification and characterization of stem like cells in MCL (mantle cell lymphoma), termed MCL initiating cells (MCL-ICs).
