Current research focus is investigating human health impact of environmental toxicants of the urban environment. In a recent study, trace metals in human teeth were quantified to investigate using teeth as bioindicator of urban environmental risk of metals. Prior industrial research experiences with The Dow Chemical Company include the development epoxy and polyurethane polymeric material systems. Current efforts are to develop nanocomposites of titanium dioxide nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes for sustainable water remediation as a solar-driven reverse osmosis platform for the remediation of drinking water.
