Dr. John Hicks has several areas of interest and collaborates with several NIH-funded Principal Investigators. Currently, he is collaborating on an NIH Director's Challenge grant on the molecular basis of osteosarcoma, NIH-K08, and Doris Duke Charitable Foundation grants on the molecular basis of Rothmund-Thomson syndrome, an NIH grant on urokinase expression in colon cancer in murine models, and NIH and Arthritis Foundation of America grants on autoimmune models of renal disease.
His other areas of interest include skeletal disorders in murine models of osteochondrodystrophies, and the clinicopathologic aspects of pediatric soft tissue neoplasms, oral, maxillofacial and head and neck diseases and tumors in childhood and HIV infection, pediatric renal diseases, and prevention and histopathology of dental caries.
