Research Interests
Primary research interests are in the areas of pain and inflammation. His research team has published more than two hundred papers that have generated more than 15,000 life-time citations. He has also edited two textbooks, Seltzer and Benders Dental Pulp, and Cohen's Pathways of the Pulp. His ongoing basic research includes studies on mechanisms of inflammatory pain and pharmacological regulation of peripheral nociceptors, whilst current clinical trials are evaluating peripheral pain mechanisms in endodontic and other pain patients, as well as the clinical outcomes of non-surgical endodontic procedures.
