Dr. Davis is focused on improving the quality of life for infants, children and adolescents with food allergies. She is dedicated to providing patients and their families with unparalleled, personalized, family-centered care. She is ultimately dedicated to finding causes and cures for food allergies and food allergy related diseases. Dr. Davis has published in the area of allergy and immunodeficiency with a focus in underlying immune mechanism of disease with several publications. In 2009, her interest in the diagnosis and treatment of food allergic disease and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) increased and she established a clinic dedicated to the treatment of eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders (EGID) at Texas Children's Hospital in collaboration with the Section of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. This multi-disciplinary clinic with an allergist, gastroenterologist and dietician currently extensively evaluates patients for food allergies and is equip with a dedicated dietitian to offer nutrition support. Dr. Davis is the Director of the Texas Children's Hospital Food Allergy Program. This program is a part of the Food Allergy Research and Education Clinical Network and has several ongoing clinical trials in the area of food allergic disease. Dr. Davis is investigating the role of probiotics in promoting resolution of cow's milk allergy, the effectiveness of food oral immunotherapy, the role of the microbiome in food allergy, better diagnostic methods for seafood allergy, and the comparison of diet and medication therapy in children with eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease.
