Neurodevelopment: One main focus of the lab is to elucidate mechanisms of early neurodevelopment, including the formation of the neuroepithelium and the rise of a unique population of cells known as neural crest. Cancer stem cells: Another focus of the lab is how miR-302 may regulate the formation and maintainence of cancer stem cell populations. Maternal-fetal Interactions: We are also interested in looking at how early interactions between maternal tissue and fetal tissue can influence the development of the embryo.
