Research and Expertise

Research Interests

1. Designing, building, and optimizing a prototype solar steam sterilizer that converts human waste to fuel. With funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation I will be able to test the setup in Kenya with Sanergy Co. by the end of this year. 2. Investigating the optical properties of metal nanoparticles and their possible applications in for therapeutic and steam generation applications. 3. Directed multiple teams composed of graduate and undergraduate students in a supervisory role to explore applications of solar steam production.
