Dr. Danila's expertise is in the areas of liposomes preparation and characterization, immunoliposomes synthesis and characterization, gold nanoparticles synthesis and characterization, multimodality imaging and molecular imaging. Her work focuses on the development of CT long-circulating contrast agents for blood pool imaging that will minimize toxicity related to high concentrations of free conventional CT contrast agents and that will provide uniform vascular enhancement with the main goal of functionalizing the contrast agents for molecular imaging of atherosclerosis and of the scars developed after myocardial infarction.
