Dr. Tran's main areas of interest include antibiotic resistance and pharmacology. She is currently an Assistant Professor of the Division of Infectious Diseases and holds her clinical appointment as an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at the Memorial Hermann Hospital – Texas Medical Center. She received support by the NIH through the Mentored Clinical Scientist Research Career Development Award (K08). She has described two novel mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in clinical important pathogens. Through her work, Dr. Tran hopes to dissect antibiotic-associated pathways to provide insights into bacterial physiology that could be exploited with novel pharmacological strategies and be translated to patient care.
