We also maintain dozens of institution-wide systems. Whenever reasonable, we design, code, and maintain our own software. Doing so not only means we understand it completely; it brings our team joy. We're often the first to embrace a new framework or try out a new technology at MD Anderson. We're early adopters, and proud of it. I am a firm believer in servant leadership. I also believe in applying technology with an eye towards its human consequences.
